Q1: How much material can I save compared to spraying plaster onto XPS?
A: Typically 35-45% for medium-viscosity plasters. Spraying wastes 30-50% as overspray + bounce-back from rigid foam. Knife coating recirculates >95% of excess. We provide a customizable free test with your XPS and coating before order.
Q2: Will the knife coater crush or deform soft XPS boards (e.g., 25 kg/m³)?
A: No. The backing roller is customizable (soft silicone) and the blade gap can be set to a floating mode. Nip pressure is adjustable. For very soft boards, we add a rigid backplate support.
Q3: My coating contains sand or short fibers. Can the machine handle that?
A: Yes. We use a customizable carbide blade (wear-resistant) and an open-gear or screw pump (not a close-tolerance gear pump). Filters are coarser or removable. Recovery trough has a screen to separate large particles before recirculation.
